Ideal Applicant for BuildPakistan Accelerator:
The ideal applicant for BuildPakistan Accelerator shall:
a) Someone with a “big dream” to solve a large problem drawing upon deep scientific knowledge and technological capability
- A clear case of why this kind of problem cannot be “ordinarily” solved within the resources available to an early-stage startup and how the solution becomes accessible via capabilities and networks of the Build Pakistan Accelerator Partners;
- A clearly defined and articulated capability and track record of the proposers to be able to pull together the necessary resources with the help of Build Pakistan partners and successfully pilot or commercialise their solution.
- A possible technical and commercialization roadmap, with clearly defined milestones to pilot test and validate in existing market inside or outside of Pakistan;
(b) Requires that the champions clearly define a set of capabilities – access to equipment, labs, faculty, etc. – that are available within NUST to be made accessible to them free of cost (or at a nominal cost) and a plan for using those capabilities during the course of the building process.
(c) Requires that the applicants demonstrate a clear capability and will to achieve their targets and commercialise. This means that the primary applicant is someone with deep interest and some track record of commercialization and not merely an academic with academic / theoretical interest or expertise in a subject. Entrepreneur-Scientist Teams are, however, most welcome to apply.

What the BuildPakistan Accelerator shall offer?
The BuildPakistan Acceleration will span a period of a year with free of cost (or nominally charged) access to cutting-edge equipment and R&D facilities, access to a network of experts and mentors, subsidized space at NUST Science and Technology Park (NSTP), a disciplined acceleration programme focused on product development and commercialization, and regular mentoring to enable completion. Build Pakistan Champions will receive:
- Technical and Commercial Advice, Mentoring, Support to help build their solutions in Pakistan
- Free and subsidized access to all listed NUST Labs, Equipment, Resources up to a maximum of USD 50K per venture.
- Access to free or subsidized space at NSTP/NICHE at the dedicated Build Pakistan office-cum-Space
- A specially curated blended Commercialisation/PD Curriculum by IGPL Trainers/ Facilitators
- Individualised Mentoring and regular office hours through the course of the whole year to discuss progress, challenges, and plans going forward
The ideal applicant shall clearly demonstrate how support (1 through 5) from Build Pakistan Accelerator can mean the difference between life and death for the venture and why, therefore, it makes sense to part with 10-15% equity in exchange for an opportunity build a solution to this problem in partnership with NSTP/IGPL.
BuildPakistan is an accelerator like no other in Pakistan. It is specially designed to work with very early-on deeptech founders and take-on substantial technical and market risk as well as provide foundational technical support in exchange for co-founders equity in the new venture.
NSTP and INNOVentures will also help make introductions to investors, funders, industrialists, partners, and clients.
