SCWomenInTech Programme Objectives:
The primary objective of the programme is to:
Identify and support women entrepreneurs or women-led entrepreneurial ventures in Pakistan to build better technology businesses or use technology to accelerate their existing businesses through:
- pre-seed funding,
- technology intervention design,
- capacity building,
- mentoring, and
- role-modelling.
Eligibility Conditions:
In order to be qualify, the applicant must:
- Be A women-led business, means:
- atleast 1/3rd of the Founders be women
- Woman Founder(s) has been around for atleast 1 year.
- Be A technology venture or a traditional business seeking to use technology to significantly grow
- Be A registered entity (a private limited company, a non-profit, or a sole proprietorship) with an NTN number operating for:
- No less than 3 months at the time of application
- No more than 2 years old at the time of application
- Demonstrate Significant Growth and/or Impact Potential
- Have an initial plan to scale or be technology enabled to scale by using Standard Chartered pre-seed funding but also mentoring and other support.
- SC’s investment and involvement must create a material difference to the business/venture
Programme Stages and Offerings:
The SCWomenInTech Programme comprises 5 stages outlined below:
Stage 1: Launch and Call for Applications (March-April)
- Roadshow (13, 15, 18 March)
- Online Applications (Until April 10)
- Short-Listing for Initial Pitching
Stage 2: Regional Pitches and Selection of Cohort (End April)
- 3 Regional Pitches (10-15 women each)
- 20-25 Women-led businesses to be selected as part of SCWomenInTech Cohort 1.
Stage 3: Capacity Building and Project Development (May-June)
- 5 Day Long Sessions at SC Learning Centers
- Focus on technology, growth hacking, project design, planning and budgeting, communicating, etc.
- Offline Mentoring & Project Support
Stage 4: Selection of Winners (End June)
- Final Proposal/Pitch
- Selection of Top5
- Top5 to get $10K in cash support against a milestone based plan to scale.
Stage 5: Project Execution (July-Dec)
- Milestone based plan to scale (through) technology to be implemented in upto 6 months.
- INNOVentures/SC to oversee and make payments on successful milestone achievement.
